Ika 19 ng Mayo 2009: Kids' Bonding Time

Unlike the previous summer class he attended, MS seems to have enjoyed himself this time even if he had to sacrifice his computer playtime for it. I don't hear any complaints.... He wakes up by himself. He is aware of the time and prepares himself early...... even eats breakfast and takes a bath at a particular time..... ensuring that he is ready by the time Manong arrives.

His summer classes will end tomorrow with a culminating activity. First, there will be a farewell party in the morning to be capped with lunch at their school. After lunch, they will be headed to Enchanted Kingdom.

His sisters manifested their desire to join him in EK as the activity is meant to be a family affair anyway. Armed with the power to choose, he wields the power in anointing the lucky sister who gets to accompany him on the trip. MD, being his favorite nemesis, is at a disadvantage. Over lunch on Sunday, we cornered him into revealing his choice openly. He smiled sheepishly knowing he has the upperhand. His sisters were jockeying for his favor. He wisely evaded making any commitment even if their Dad who will finance the siblings' outing already informally agreed to his two sisters joining him. He probably wants his sisters to do some arse-kissing......

Today at breakfast, we were still discussing the EK issue. It appears he is letting both sisters join him feigning exasperation at being asked repeatedly. The three of them actually enjoy siblings bonding moments. There was a time ED treated MD and MS to arcade games and snacks. They enjoyed it immensely and MS asked his sisters when they could have another one soon. Barring any fortuitous events, it looks like the siblings are off to another fun-filled adventure tomorrow.

On the way to work this morning, I smiled at the thought of how my kids love each other's company. Then it dawned on me that when we are complete, there are bound to more bickering among the three of them. Are kids happier going out minus the parents? I wonder why..........

PS: Langya talaga tong mga Yellow Boys ng Makati. Hinuli yun sinasakyan kong van..... napagtripan at luma na kasi.
